On Saturday, November 5, 2011, at the district FBA Marching Performance Assessment, the three marching bands of southern Lake county– Lake Minneola HS, South Lake HS, and East Ridge HS, all came home with straight Superior ratings.  All three bands will be competing in the State Semi-finals competition on November 19th in Tampa.  East Ridge and South Lake have established traditions of earning Superior ratings.  However, the Lake Minneola Marching Green & Gold are in their inaugural season and have set the bar high, earning straight Superiors at FBA, and winning first place in the 3A category at the Tarpon Springs Outdoor Music Festival and the Colonial Grenadier Invitational Marching Competition.

I’m so proud of all these young musicians and am proud to be their photographer.  I have been photographing many of these students since they started band in the sixth grade, and it’s thrilling to see them grow up and develop their talents.

I had a great time photographing the family of a dear college friend, Bobbi Jane, along with her husband’s extended family.  They were gathered for a family vacation at Cocoa Beach and took the time to create these fun images.  They were game for anything and being from colder climates, they scoffed at our central Florida winter while I was freezing.
